When a single toilet overflows or a sink drains slowly, it is usually a localized issue. But what happens when your entire home’s plumbing system seems to be turning against you? When problems occur deep underground in your main sewer line, traditional plunging and snaking won’t cut it.
As a veteran-operated plumbing team serving Marion and Levy counties, Strait Plumbing believes in showing you the exact problem before we recommend a fix. That is where advanced camera inspection technology comes in. Stop guessing and start seeing.
Here are three major signs that it is time to schedule a sewer line camera inspection.
1. Multiple Slow or Backed-Up Drains If your kitchen sink, shower, and toilet are all draining slowly at the same time, the blockage isn’t in the individual fixtures. The common denominator is your main sewer line. If running your washing machine causes water to back up into your shower basin, you have a deep blockage that requires a visual inspection to pinpoint.
2. Unexplained Patches of Lush Grass Your lawn might be looking incredibly green in one specific spot, but it might not be a good thing. Sewage acts as a powerful fertilizer. If your underground sewer line has cracked or burst due to shifting soil or aging pipes, the leaking waste will cause the grass directly above it to grow faster and greener than the rest of the yard.
3. Recurring Clogs After Recent Snaking If you recently had a plumber out to clear a stubborn main line clog, but the problem returned just a few weeks later, there is likely a larger structural issue at play. Tree roots are notorious for infiltrating sewer lines. A camera inspection will reveal if roots have broken through the pipe or if the pipe itself has collapsed, allowing us to target the repair without unnecessarily digging up your entire yard.
